Chapters of the Ghana Union of Canada work at the local/civic level. The level of engagement and programs are as per the needs of the community they represent. They are all under the umbrella of GUC federal however they are all separate/ independent legal entities of themselves whose leadership, bylaws and programs are not determined and/or influenced by GUC. GUC's operate at arms length with member chapters as per their representation per agreed provisions its bylaws and Constitution. GUC has two-chapter models:

• GUC managed Chapters
• An existing Ghanaian association, cultural group, professional bodies etc. that has representation to GUC's General Council.
