About GUC || WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
The Ghana Union of Canada – all called GUC) - is the official
national representative body for Canada’s Ghanaian community at the federal
level.
We advocate on behalf of our community and engage in
meaningful dialogue with the government of Canada to address three core
priorities:
- Immigration
- Settlement,
and
- Integration
into Canada's social, economic, and political landscape.
Through strategic use of resources, tools, and available
opportunities, GUC provides critical support to ensure that newcomers from
diverse backgrounds, second- and third-generation youth, and older
adults are effectively oriented, actively engaged, and empowered to succeed
in Canada.
We achieve this through:
- Advocacy
- Shared
experiential learning
- Collective
engagement with Canadian systems, culture, and institutions
GUC promotes a collaborative approach to federal engagement,
grounded in strong partnerships with communities, civil society, and
institutions. This inclusive model:
- Strengthens
governance
- Builds
resilient and inclusive communities
- Supports
long-term, meaningful change
At GUC, we mobilize collective efforts to address key federal
policy issues, improve quality of life, and help shape a more equitable and
prosperous Canada—for Ghanaians in Canada and all Canadians alike.
Join us in amplifying our individual voices to make it “One
Voice” – a collective stand for truth, empowerment and equity.
Here is how!
