GUC Membership FAQs

1. Who can become a member of GUC?

Membership is open to Ghanaian Canadians, individuals of Ghanaian heritage, and Ghanaian community organizations across Canada.

2. What types of membership are available?

  • Individual Membership: For individuals of Ghanaian descent or those who support our mission.
  • Organizational Membership: For Ghanaian cultural, professional, and community groups.

3. How do I apply for membership?

Simply complete the online membership application form on our website or request a paper form by emailing membership@ghanaunioncanada.ca.

4. Is there a membership fee?

Currently, GUC offers free membership to encourage wide participation. This may be subject to change based on future organizational needs.

5. What are the benefits of becoming a GUC member?

  • Influence federal policies affecting our community
  • Access to exclusive events, webinars, and resources
  • Networking with Ghanaian Canadians nationwide
  • Voting rights at General Council meetings (for eligible members)

7. Can organizations join GUC?

Yes! We welcome Ghanaian cultural, professional, and community organizations to join as chapters or partners.

8. How can I get involved after becoming a member?

Members can participate in committees, attend General Council meetings, volunteer for projects, and join community events.

9. Can I resign my membership?

Yes, members may resign at any time by notifying us in writing at membership@ghanaunioncanada.ca.
